Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

KittyRank ("we", "the app") helps WordPress site owners improve their search rankings. This policy explains what data the app touches and how Google user data obtained through sign-in is used. Plain language, no surprises.

How KittyRank uses Google user data

When you choose "Connect Google", KittyRank requests the following scopes. Each is used only for the user-facing feature described, and for nothing else.

Scope Access What it is used for
webmasters.readonly Read Read your Search Console performance data (queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions) to find striking-distance keywords and diagnose which pages underperform. Read-only — KittyRank never changes Search Console settings.
indexing Write (your URLs only) Submit URLs on sites you own to Google for recrawl after you make an SEO change, so improvements are picked up sooner. Only ever used for URLs on properties you have verified.
analytics.readonly (optional) Read If you connect GA4, read engagement metrics (bounce rate, sessions, engagement) to enrich the analysis. Skipped entirely if you don't connect GA4.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it to third parties, and we do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models.

Where your data lives

The Free and self-hosted editions run entirely on your own machine or server. Search data, credentials, and analysis results are stored locally on the computer running KittyRank. We do not receive or store them.

Your Google authorization is kept as a token file on that same machine and is used only to make the API calls above on your behalf. You can revoke it at any time from your Google Account permissions page, which immediately cuts off all access.

Managed (Pro) edition

The optional Pro edition may relay AI-analysis requests through our servers so you don't need your own AI key. In that flow we process the specific text needed for an analysis to return a result; we do not sell data, and we do not use your content to train models. Google Search Console and WordPress credentials continue to stay on your machine — they are never sent to us.

Google API Services — Limited Use

KittyRank's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

What we don't do

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate visitor traffic — page views, approximate location, and referrer. GA4 anonymizes IP addresses. This is ordinary website analytics on kittyrank.com and is entirely separate from the KittyRank app; it never touches your Search Console, Analytics, or WordPress data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
